Val Ibardolasa opened Retro@Home in April of 2000. The Retro@Home showroom features mini vignettes of furniture coupled with accessories to help customers visualize a mid-century modern environment. Every item at Retro@Home has been personally selected by Val with special attention given to condition and good design. Retro@Home’s inventory features designers such as Hans J. Wegner; Borge Mogensen, Jens Risom, Illums Bolighus, 0le Wanscher Charles and Ray Eames; Paul McCobb, Verner Panton, Eero Saarinen, Paul Lazlo, and George Nelson.
In addition, Retro@Home offers personalized interior design services; custom upholstery, sewing, furniture design and an extensive textile library including Knoll & Maharam. Val has been an avid collector of "Vintage" furnishings from Deco to Modern since the early 80's. With her background in Design, Val enjoys blending the principles of "form follows function" and the clean lines of Modernism under one roof.
