To Me, Blonde Wood Connotes Summertime
June 14th, 2010
|
Summer is here my friends. It’s bright and sunshiney outside. There’s just something about blonde wood furniture that makes me feel summery. Maybe it’s how close the tone of the wood is to the sand, or the light brightness just seems warm and happy. With all my summertime associations with furniture of this type, you can imagine my excitement when we brought in a little family of blonde wood into the store the other day; Alvar Aaltos and Hans J. Wegner designs no less.
Be still my beating heart!

The store will be closed Thursday thru Sunday (May 27th-May 30th)this week.
Have a great and fun weekend with your families! Swing by next week and tell us about your barbeques and shop our extended anniversary sale.
We’ve got some great new things–a beautiful pair of danish modern”his and hers” lounge chairs, a simply gorgeous triangular occasional table with caned shelf “al la Finn Juhl style”, and my personal favorite, a ridiculously comfortable danish modern, recliner w/ foot-rest reupholstered in what is possibly the best fabric I have ever seen come through our showroom.
See you next week!

I love it when I find our furniture on the web!

I love to browse Apartmenttherapy.com on my breaks between class and work. I get lots of ideas, see beautiful, creative spaces that REAL people live in, and learn new tips and tricks for making my place a home. On one of my most recent meanderings through the website, I noticed a coffee table in one of the apartments they were featuring. “Wait, that looks an awful lot like the super long and low coffee table we had in the store a few months ago!” Lo and behold, I looked at the sources the dwellers of that apartment listed, and there we were “Retro@Home: coffee table.” I feel a little voyeuristic seeing a glimpse into one of our customers’ home. But I have to say, I really like seeing something that I sold in the space it was bought for. I remember the couple that bought the table from us, they were young and hip and completely adorable. Their home absolutely reflects that, and I’m happy to know one of my furniture babies found a wonderful place to grow up!
